Zoo Time

I find some of the things that one thinks about while driving down the highway is interesting. Perhaps it is just the connections that they go through that arrive at a specific thought or person. Today, I was thinking about college and ended up thinking about one of the maintenance crew that I had worked with that had a heart attack. He as a really nice guy, and his son attended college there as well. I had not thought about any of that for several years.

Today we went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and it was great. There was not many people there, no wind and the temperature was just right. Cap and Amy had a great time. We fed and saw the giraffes, and they are tall. We also saw the Elephants, Leopards, some Lemurs (made famous by the movie Madagascar), monkeys of all shapes and sizes, hippos and some other animals. I really liked the hippos, they are huge, a male can weigh up to 8,000 lbs. No wonder they like to float in the water. One of them rolled over while we were watching. After that we ate, went to the hotel and saw. That was almost as much fun as the zoo, but not quite, then it was bath and bed time. I suppose that you could call the routine bath, bed and beyond, a trip into the dreamy world of Cap.
