September 12, 2006

September 11, 2006, statically it is just another 24 hour time period. During this period the second hand on your watch will tick 86400 times during this period. The sun will rise in the east and set in the west, and billions of people will live their days like any other. Yet, it is a day of reflection for millions of Americans. While the world continues to spin on its axis, people of this country are, for the most part, not pondering the gravitational pull of the moon. They are reflecting on how their lives have changed, while pondering the meaning of it all.

This event was not the first nation defining moment that I saw and understood with my own eyes, but it was the event with the most profound effects. It was easy to grasp the destruction, the news media play the scenes of the pleans chasing into the building and the collapse of the north and south tower.
