Today, I decided not to swim when I rose at 5:00; instead I watched the news for a bit. Then it was off to work, off to the church, off to father’s house, and back home for bath and bed time. Cap and I were flying solo tonight because Amy had Bible study.
The journal entry below I wrote while on the fishing expedition, where we braved hot temperature, threats from the natives and the cattle population that wanted to move into camp with us. It is titled, Old Note Pad. The picture to the left is a scanned image of the "Note Pad"
Today I found an old note pad. I think that it dates back to the fall of 2003. That was an exciting time for me. I went on my first official business trip with my current employer. Amy and I had just celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary. An interesting fact is that we celebrated it in Lubbock, Texas. Our trip to Lubbock was not perpetuated by the over whelming romantic atmosphere of the city. Rather, it was to attend another wedding. Amy and I also traveled to Rhode Island for my cousins wedding. The picture to the right is from the trip. I also had the privilege to serve as a Lay Director for a Chrysalis. It was a lot of work, and God lead me though it. It was a true blessing. Currently life is just as exciting; we are remodeling out home, raising our son, and have made some great friends over the past year.
What is it that brings friends tighter in the first place? In college I spent most of my time with guys that lived on the same floor in my dorm, and a friend from back home. He attended ACU while I attended McMurry. Our friendship started (according to our parents) when we were 3. We did not become good friends until his senior year in high school. Prior to that, we were more of acquaintances. By the time I graduated college we had skied tighter, saw George Straight in concert, attended many Tuesday Night Devos at ACU, watched many A&M Football games, and managed to knock of a TV in a College Station Restaurant.

Thomas Jefferson
It was another day that has come and gone so quickly. I would think those days when you wake up before the roosters, swim and then go to work would pass incredibly slowly. However, they do not. It rained today, at least an inch, probably more. I was soaked, when I went to get in the car after work. That is the price that one pays.
When I went on the evening stroll with the dog, I listened to NPR’s story of the day. It is about bar-b-que, and is very interesting. The link below will take you to the story, I think that it is better to listen to the story, which can be done. If you click the box that says “Listen” in the upper left-hand corner of the screen the writer will read his essay.

One other NPR type note,, when I was driving back from the fishing trip I listened to part of the “Thomas Jefferson Hour; Your Weekly Conversation with the Third President.” Mr. Jefferson said that he would spend long hours writing letters to ensure that his thoughts were deliberately and clearly written. As opposed to random thoughts that are only just written down. I think that Mr. Jefferson would not embrace the randomness of most Blogs that are written today. In that sprit, below is a passage that I wrote while on the fishing trip, also, there is a scanned picture of this so that you can see that I really did you pen and paper to write this.
Horseshoes is similar to Curling. There are a few differences, in horseshoes you have two person teams. While in Curling, the teams are made up of 4 people, one of which is that captain. When Curling you Curl a stone down an ice track hoping to either get into the “House” or knock your opponent out of the house. Meanwhile, in horse shoes your ate pitching the horseshoe at a post to see who can get closer. The main difference that I noticed, is that Curling is played on an Ice Ring, while horseshoes is generally played in some hot semi aired region that is hot.

Memorial Day 2006
The fishing trip was a great success. I managed to catch some nice fish, and like the Texas Penal System, I operate of the theory of Catch and Release most of the time. The camp had plenty of fish, and none of these were the “Big One”. There is a song by Robert Earl Keen, on his Album No.2 LIVE Diner called “Five Pound Bass”. While I was fishing the chorus of the song went though my head. On another note, it is a pretty good album; there are some good songs and hilarious narratives between several songs. The usual crowd was there fishing, and not fishing depending on who you were. Of course the same stories were told, passed on from one generation to the other. One of my favorites is the Big Cat Fish. (Partly because I was involved in the story.)
The Big Catfish
By Jeremy Patman
We awoke that morning after a late night of dominos in the “Moon Palace” to a cold and foggy campsite. Getting out of the sack was hard that morning; I had stay up till the wee hours of the night, which can be tough on an old fellow. That is especially when he is only 11, and sleeping in a tent. I got up and dressed in pants, and a purple coat that my dad let me borrow from time to time. Then I slowly sauntered out to the camp fire, where the men were razzing each other about cooking, and if you complain then you will become the next cook. I did not want to cook, so I said the toast was great, even though one side was burned. E said, “Come on lets go get the jugs.” Into the boat we climbed. E, Monty, Daze, and myself. The boat was an aluminum 14 footer, which looked like it was made around WWII. E always compared the controls on the boat to that of the WWII B-29 bomber. He gave us a colorful narrative of taking off as we shoved out to sea. The jugs that we were off to check had been set the night before, by the same set of individuals in the boat. They were of simple construction, an empty quart Clorox bottle, with a railroad spike tide to the end of the line. There were two sets of hooks, on about 1 foot off the spike, and the other about 3 feet higher than the spike. The hooks were baited with perch that we caught in the pond. The last one that we found had drifted about 100 feet from where it had been placed, and as we pulled up to it sank below the water. A kin to the movie Jaws when the shark takes the 3 barrels under the ocean, and the captain said that he had never seen that before. None of us in the boat had seen it before. About 5 minutes later it surfaced 20 feet from the boat. E cranked the motor up and we sped over. It took both Monty and Daze pulling on the jug to get it up and the fish in the boat. We had an old #2 galvanize wash tube in the boat to put the fish in, this fish would not fit in there. With its tail hanging out of on side of the boat, and his head off the other side, we headed for shore. As we approached someone at camp said, “Did you catch anything?” Our response was, “Yeah, we caught one,” all grinning like the Cheshire Cat.
That is the story of the big fish, I recon that it weighted around 30 lbs. I believe that it occurred on Memorial Day in 1986, which was my first time on the trip. We were camped at the South end of Cone’s Lake, which we found out later is really named Baker’s Lake.
I did do some writing while I was on the excursion without a computer, I will type them up tomorrow, they are not time sensitive. Today, we went to the park and Cap hit the slide and looked at the birds. The picture below is of the sunset tonight.

Thursday, May 25th
I am getting ready to go fishing; it is going to be fun. I will be glad to get away from the cell phone, pager, work, and the rest of the stuff that makes life dull and sucks the spirit out of one. (That would be the work Cell Phone, and the work pager), I though that it might rain tonight but it did not. The A/C man had to come again this year to work on the A/C, it is an annual visit. On another note, it is my parents anneversery, and my dad left today for the fishing trip.

Lay, Skilling Convicted in Enron Collapse
It’s about time… …they should be, well I guess they will just have to go to the big house. I heard on the news someone saying the Lay was like the biblical character of Job. To which I scoff at completely, if you read in the opening chapters of Job, he is described by God as a righteous man, who is head and shoulders above the rest. While Lay, well he can’t be very righteous, he was just convicted of fraud and conspercy, not once but 19 times, OUCH.

Ferris Bueller... Anyone.... Anyone
Normally I leave work out of the blog, other than the mention of what time I get there and what time I leave (today that would have been Arrived 6:35 am, left 5:25 pm). However, this is a classic story that I think someone can relate to other than myself. I had to do some new hire safety training, and I like to ask the folks I am training questions. A little interaction goes a long way. In the class were several summer interns and 2 full time new hires. I felt like Ben Stein in the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, I would ask a question and think, “Anyone, Anyone, Anyone.” In the movie he asks the class about “Voodoo Economics, can anyone tell me who termed that phrase, anyone, anyone, anyone.” I can relate to how he felt. Speaking of that movie, when I was in college that is what we did every year on my birthday at the dorm. We would go down to Darren’s room, pop the movie in, and sit and watch it, or make an effort to watch it.
Wow, that is all that I have in my head to write about, I had more but I forgor, and it is late, coupled with the fact that I am TIRED…

Frozen Bottled Water
Frozen Bottled Water
This morning I got up ad 5:00 am and went swimming. It was very liberating, I saw ¼ of a mile in 20 minutes. This was a very liberating experience, because last time I swam I did not do so well. I was at work fighting various battles with other people at the plant, and so on and so forth until 6:00 pm. Tonight we had a family outing to United, to purchase some groceries. I finished picking up all the bricks from the back porch project, Mazie and I went for a long walk. Midland is going to be a popular place the first full week in June; several of the motels are already booked completely. I did find us a room for annual conference, which ended up being a suite. The cost was the same as most of the hotels that had the “Special Rate” for the conference. I ordered 5 more springs for my hammer gun, because they are made in China by communist, the only last about 2 hours. Beside, the communist do not charge much for the springs, I think they were 2.20 each.
Before my walk I put a bottle of Ozarka bottled water in the refrigerator (Freezer). After my walk, I came back and it was more of a slushy (like the kind from 7-11.) The taste is different when it is frozen, a mystery that I cannot quite fathom.

Montenegro and Ray Nagin...
Did you know that the county of Montenegro has voted for Independence from Serbia? Did you even know that they were voting on such an item? Here we are in America, living in a state of news isolationism. Sometimes it seems like we are like fish in a tank waiting for the news media to drop their selected news for us to feed on. Making us as a country, ignorant to other issues, or concerns that might affect us, or that we may be passionate about. I like to know what is going on from an unbiased news source. These sources are usually very difficult to find, because the main stream news is biased primarily to the liberal side. An additional problem is that they all report the same news, and if it was not note worthy for the day, the well, it just did not get reported. I have not located the perfect media out let, however, I find that the BBC is good for reporting world wide vents, AFR is good at report Christian issues, and the challenges of America, and that I listen to a lot of NPR news, because they have interesting stories (a bit on the liberal side though). To read more about the Montenegro vote click on the link below. Montenegro's

Another note worthy news item is that Ray Nagin was reelected the Mayor of New Orleans. This is a man who lead his city through a hurricane that flooded the city. Also the man that wants New Orleans to be a “Chocolate City”. I would not have voted for him if I lived in New Orleans, because I do not think that he is the caliber person needed to be mayor of the city. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5421043
Due to the impending sever weather, I have elected not to go on the evening stroll with the doggie. It is Sunday evening, and tomorrow will mean another day at work, which I am eagerly anticipating. My boss cam to church again at our church, perhaps he will get into going to church again. It would be good for him. Over the weekend I did quite a bit of rock chipping, the picture on the right side of the screen is some of the results.
I was reading a story to Cap from Richard Scarry’s book, Richard Scarry’s Best Storybook Ever, and saw the picture to the left. This gave me a flash back to when I was a child and spent hours reading the same book. I loved this picture as a child, and always imagined that it was me and my dad out fishing. We have done a lot of fishing together in our lives, and I always enjoy going. The picture has always been such innocent about this picture, not sure why, but it reminds me of a peaceful and tranquil moment on the boat fishing with my dad.

Dinner in Panhandle
We drove over to Panhandle to eat dinner this evening. It was interesting because while we were there I noticed at least 3 and perhaps tables that had people from Big B sitting at them. This fact leads me to believe that everyone has had their fill of “The Plaza”, I have. When everything that you get at a restaurant begins to taste the same, you know it is time to move along. Yet we continue to go back, and whether we get enchiladas, tacos, or beef fajitas, that all taste the same. Perhaps they do not wash their dishes very well, but I think it is because they cook everything the same way.

Ted, on Immigration
During the latest immigration reform debate, the Senator from Massachusetts (Ted Kennedy) said, “YOU ARE PROPOSING TO PUT UP 371 MILES OF FENCE BETWEEN THE US AND MEXICO, THAT IS ALMOST A ¼ OF THE BORDER! THAT DOES NOT MAKE A GOOD NEIGHBOR!” I hate to tell you Ted, but if you were my neighbor, I would make sure that I had a fence along all of my border with you. This entire debate is not about being a good neighbor. We have NAFTA, or is the illegal immigration the bonus part of NAFTA? It is about the enforcement of our immigration laws and regulations. The good senator from Massachusetts should remember that at one time his family was immigrants. They had to follow the rules to get to America. I am completely accepting of any immigrant, who gets into the country legally.

Jogging at the Park
I walked Mazie (the dog) to the park tonight, and we went for a jog. I realized that Mazie does better when jogging at the track. She wanted to stop frequently to smell the grass, and take in the scenery. I was more interesting in staying in motion, which resulted in some abrupt stops for me.
I need to do some more research on my iPOD so I understand the play lists. Tonight I could not find the play list that I made for jogging. It has several of my favorite fast beat rock songs, Centerfield (John Forgety), Paradise City (Guns & Roses), Breakfast (Newsboys), and some song by the Rolling Stones.
I ma in a funk after attending a meeting at my church, one thing did not really settle with me very well.
I was going to write more, but the funk has set in and I just don't feel like it...

Sometimes it is difficult to determine a good title.
Like I said in the title line, it is hard to come up with good titles on certain days. This was in fact one of those days. Went to work, worked hard, came home at, and colored with crayons read to Cap, worked on the yard. That is it, so for a title I could say Work, Ate, Read, and Sleep, but that is not an attention getting subject line. How many people would read a book titled, The Boring Book, or an e-mail with the subject line, “This is the worst and most pointless e-mail that you will ever read”? How many people would actually read that one? Would you, I do not think so. On the subject of boring, I sat in on what was the most boring conference call today at work. It was brutally dull for me, because I had no input and was just there kind of as the mandatory safety dude.
The company that makes Crayons, Binney & Smith, is actually owned by Hallmark (http://www.binney-smith.com/page.cfm?id=21)
Amy and I played dominos tonight, I bet her 165 to 75, we were playing to 100. She drew most of the dominos and I went out.

Motorola
I have elected to get a new Cell Phone. This decision was propelled by the fact that Amy killed her phone, making 2, the total number of phones she has killed or lost in the last 1 year and 3 months. While I have killed zero phones in the same time frame. However, I lost a phone a couple of years ago, and we found it one day about 6 moths later in the side pocket of the car door. I was really looking for a Bluetooth phone, so I can talk on it while I do things around the house. The one thing that I do not like about talking on the phone is that it leaves you with only one hand to use. I like to talk and do things at the same time. It helps me stay focused on the conversation, otherwise I will drift off into another world, while I think about what to write in the blog… Below is a link to the Motorola phone page, incase you are interested.

Mazie and I went for a walk tonight, and saw my mom; she stopped and visited with us. Mazie was excited to see her, and so was I. While we were on the walk I listened to a NPR Program about some really large dogs in Turkey (the county, not the home of Bob Wills.) They weight about 140 pounds and their head is about rib cage height when they are on all 4 legs.
Work was pretty frustrating today. I did get to see a good friend that transferred to another office, and heard that another good friend got promoted. That made the day better. Perhaps I just had, “A Case of the Mondays…” like Peter on Office Space. It is a good flick, I think I might watch it before I hit the bed.

Mother’s Day
Once again the day to honor mothers has come and mothers across the country have been celebrated. In comparison to the rest of the “Hallmark” holidays, I feel that Mother’s Day has the most warrant. I know that my mom, grandmothers, and wife have been very compassionate to me and shown me love in moments that I was not showing it back. I have always though that my mom was a great mom, and she is. My wife, is also a great mom to Cap, and for that I say, Praise God!
Cap got Amy a book called, “How Much I Love You,” it is a nice little book, and Amy likes it. I got her a Pasta Bowl and a spoon rest from Fiesta. I consider myself to me more knowledgeable then the stereotypically male about the kitchen. This morning I learned that the Pasta Bowl is for serve ring one person their pasta in it. I suppose that for the next 7 mother days Amy will get another Pasta Bowl, thus completing the set.
Over the weekend I got to work on a couple of outreach or mission projects though the church. The work was hard, the company was great and I enjoyed what we did. Additionally, completing the projects gave me a good feeling, because it seems at home that I cannot complete anything. However, looking into the lives of the people that we helped was very touching, and is also depressive. When I think about all the money that is wasted, and I mean wasted, here in America my heart yearns for less waste. I am by no means a socialist, but, the government spending 700 million dollars to move a privately owned railroad 200 miles north is frustrating. Instead of throwing millions away to large corporations, lets have the government assist those whom need it. Should you argue that the government should not get into assisting people, then why is the US government throwing billions of dollars to rebuild a city that was built below seal level in a marsh in Southern Louisiana? If you look at all the problems in America, how important is it if Jeff Gordon and Joe Schmo crash and duke it out in the pit stop? How important would assistance be if you were a single mom, with cancer, and raising three children?
On the lighter side, this morning while I was getting ready, I heard Cap in his room making some noise. I went to investigate and found him reading a book and sitting in the rocking chair.

Concert Siding
Tonight we started a mission project right in our town. We are replacing on side of a house’s siding. (I am not sure if that was grammatically correct, I could not determine a better way to write it.) It was a new adventure for me, because I have never used the stuff before. It is called Hardy board, and was purchased at our local hardware store. We will be doing some more of it tomorrow.
We had dinner with my parents, Cap and his cousin had a great time playing together, and they enjoy each other’s company. Work was spent fielding various questions and concerns, I sometimes wonder if it will ever end. I asked Amy if she wanted to move to Libya, and she said no, I asked about Tripoli, and she said, I have always want to got there. I do not think this is a stark endorsement for moving to Libya. I just wanted to know what she would say.

I finally downloaded the pictures from the trip. I did not take very many, mainly because I had my hands full. Below is a picture of Amy at a rest stop on the race course!!

The Allsups Breakfast...
This morning I went to Allsups to get a cinnamon roll from breakfast. Since it was 6:30 am the store was crowded and I had to wait a few minutes before checking out. This gave me time to think about life here in West Texas, as opposed to life in New York. In New York, business people stand in line holding copies of the New York Times, while waiting for their Starbucks coffee and bagel. Here in Texas folks stand around in their work clothes stained from days past waiting for their ever famous Allsups Breakfast Burrito or perhaps a chimia-changa At Starbucks one has the choice of many different types of coffee. Allsups has Folgers, and an automatic coffee machine. .

Is there a stark contrast between the Allsups crowd and the Starbucks crowd? From the outside perspective there is, the world view would be that of “Starbucks is better.” However, there is more to a person then where he or she gets their breakfast and coffee (I am not a regular coffee drinker and usually skip this). Most people at either location are going to work, and they have a family that they care for and are working hard to support. If you are fast or quick to pass judgment or assumptions about people based on their morning coffee stop, then you will miss the opportunity to meet and get to know some great people, after all, I go to Allsups sometimes in the morning.

Deep Blue Something
When I was in college there was a band called Deep Blue Something, of course I called them “Deep Blue Something or another.” They had one big hit as I remember called Breakfast at Tiffanies, but they had some other good songs on their album. On of them was called Home. I always liked that song because it was sort of folkies and punk/alternative combined.
Today I was sitting in Choir practice and I saw a guy standing in the hall, who looked to be waiting for someone. So I got up to see what he needed. He had some story about going back to El Paso and needing gas, so I took him to the gas station and filled his car up. I think that we was wanting me just to give him money, because his car only took 6 gallons of gas. On top of that, he filled it up with Premium, 91 octane, the really expensive stuff. After that he did ask if I could give him any money, and I said no, because I did not have any cash on me, which is not unusual.
Managed to download and listen to my first pod cast on my iPod, while I went for a stroll with Mazie (the dog). It was good, I really like the iPod thing. The show was from AFR called The AFR Report, where these guys sit around and talk about today’s issues. They are pretty interesting to listen to. I normally listen to them for 10 minutes in the car driving back to work. With the Podcast I can here the entire show!
Where did the phrase, “You’re a good man Charlie Brown,” come from? I used it the other day, and one of my friends gave me a hard time about it.
Point of Interest: sued and used have the same letters, I guess that if you are sued, then you feel used.

Tuesday
Let me see, compared to the weekend, today was boring and mondane. Went to work, mowed the grass and then it rained... I am all typed out...
The Trip Recap
The trip was a great success!! Amy rode and completed the 86 mile Shinerbash, it 10 ½ hours. Additionally she doubled her fund raising goal (an was the highest North Texas Chapter Team in Training Fundraiser for just this race.) She doubled the furthest distance she had ridden on her bike, and double the longest amount of time that she had ever ridden. It was great to see her crossing the finish line. I do not really have any pictures of that of Cap watching the race from the car seat. We will get some of Amy at the end of the race, and I will post them in here once that is completed. Thanks to everyone who supported her through finances, thoughts and especially PRAYERS!! There is something amazing in watching someone accomplish this kind of physical test of endurance, particularly someone who is not an athlete.
I wrote a post for Thursday, and I will stick it in tomorrow, it is on a different computer. Below are some of the highlights, and there is a timetable at the end…
Friday
We followed the Team In Training Coordinator down from Dallas to Austin, she drives like a NASCAR driver, so I was driving almost like a NASCAR driver, in and out of traffic, through construction, I think our average speed was around 75 mph in the construction zones. WOW, I was glad to get out of the car. We made it down there in time to get the car unpacked, and go to Amy’s Practice ride.
I am tired and will finish this tomorrow!
Ok now it is tomorrow (Tuesday)
After the practice ride we went to the hotel, cleaned up and went to dinner. I carried Amy’s Bike into the hotel, and got some strange looks (this was not the only time I was moving Amy’s bike in and out of the hotel). After that it was time for the “Pasta Party” we ate at the spaghetti warehouse, in Downtown Austin. It was good, Cap got cranky so we went to the waiting area/lobby and looked at the video games. After Cap was in bed I went down to the lobby to do some work on the ole computer. It was a happening place. There was a wedding party staying at the hotel, and a herd of college age girls we leaving for the bachelorette party. As they were walking out the door one of them exclaimed, “Now don’t lose your **^() straws!!!” (I will let you fill in **^() for yourself.)
Saturday
I awoke at 3:00 am to the sound of wind rain and thunder, and thought to myself, this is not a good sing for the bike ride. I could not go to sleep so I turned on the TV, went to the car to get something that Amy needed, and ventured to the lobby. There were quite a few people that were, “socially lubricated” and hanging out watching it rain, included the two dudes smoking in the hall. I said, I don’t think that you can some in the hall, and they said that room 924 was a smoking room so they could, I replied that they should just go in room 924 and smoke then. At 6:00 am, Cap Amy and I departed for the staring point of the race, it was still raining, but not as hard. Amy took off on the race and Cap and I went and had breakfast. We traveled around the circuit from rest stop to rest stop until we reached the finish line. There we waited for Amy to arrive, and she did. It was a glorious moment, 86 miles on a bike, wow!
We had dinner and went to be around 12:00 am, boy it was a long day.
Sunday we drove from Austin to Dallas, actually McKinney but everyone knows where Dallas is. We stopped at Waco and had lunch. There were a lot of high school kids in there, I am thinking it was a regional track meet for the weekend. They were all excited and talking, and in the WAY. It was interesting to see them and wonder what challenges they will face of the next 4 years! I also recounted the story of when Joey jumped off the bridge into the Brazos River on a drafting state completion trip, so kids can run, I could draw! One point on interest is that I saw the girls from the bachelorette party in the elevator on Sunday, and they looked like they had a hard weekend, of self inflicted pain and agony.
We made it home on Monday, and to keep things brief I will end this post here.

Preprations
Last night I woke up and Amy was watching or listening to the concert presentation of South Pacific (the musical). That is an unnerving manner to wake up at 3:00 am…
I am getting ready for the big bike riding trip, we will be leaving tomorrow. Keep us in your prayers, and thoughts, especially Amy, as she rides. I know that she will do great, and I am very proud of her commitment to this. There is a link below to the web site of the Shinerbash, if you are interested.

The only funny thing to put in here is that an unmanned source said, “Being clean is unmanly…”
I will give a full and detailed report on Monday…

A Day in the Life and Paris Hilton, Who Cares???
There is a Beatles Song titled, “A Day in the Life,” some days feel like that. (That is what I think the title of the song is, the CD case is in my office and I can’t verify the information on the internet.) It was an adventure, I had a hard time getting up and going this morning. I stayed up last night until midnight, and so 5:21 came early, and there was a definite lack of motivation to get up and moving. I made it to the office by 6:50 am, which is not bad. After that it was one thing after the next until quitting time. Then I went home and cooked some skirt steak that had been marinating since 10:30 the night before. Cap went to Kid’s Camp, Amy had lunch with one of her bible study groups, and I had a TV dinner at home.
Two thoughts came to mind today about the human nature. First, who cares if Paris Hilton split up with her boyfriend? Secondly, what impact will that breakup have on my personal life? Everyone looks up to someone, perhaps it is there parent, or perhaps it is some superstar. It is easier to fill that “hero” position with a superstar, pro athlete, actor, or other famous person that is far removed from the normal person. I think this is because the “Super Star” hero is distance and will not hurt us as much as our parents, or a friend that might be older. Even though they are humans and make mistakes, they are not the kind of mistakes like the mistakes that those close to us can make. The people closest to us will make the mistakes that can scar a relationship for years and years. Thus, Americans find it easier to lookup to someone far removed from their situation. To answer my questions, I do not care if Paris Hilton splits up with anyone, and it has no real impact on my life. It is life, embrace someone who is close to you, give a little of your self. I think this would help Americans with their self centeredness (don’t know if that is a word but I used it.)

John 4:10 - King James Verson
“Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water” John 4:10 (King James Verson). The first time that I read though this scripture tonight in the King James Bible, I thought that I would have to go fetch the NIV so that I could understand what the verse was talking about. On the second time through I realized that this is the verse about the woman at the well. I was much like the woman at the well and did not understand at first, but later (in my case a few seconds) I did understand. God is all around us, clothed as individuals, babies, people, mountains and trees. He is waiting for us to open the door, or open our eyes to his kingdom here on earth so that we can experience the peace he has for us. Had I not been looking and trying to understand the verse, God would not have spoken to me through his living word.
Amen
Amen
